Live Dictation (mic) is the one text & language tool here that genuinely hands your input to an external service for processing — most of the catalog is fully client-side, but this one is honest about the exception. The upside is that it uses a model or service too heavy to practically ship inside a browser. The trade-off is that your material briefly leaves your device, so it's a bad fit for anything confidential: internal documents, client NDAs, private media, personal records.
We keep no copies ourselves — no account, no email form, no watermark, no ads — but the third-party service that does the actual processing receives whatever you submit and operates under its own privacy policy. If that matters to your use case, pick one of the on-device tools in the same category instead; most of them work for ordinary files and only this subset of advanced tasks requires remote processing.
